VAMT license does not automatically activate.

If you want to automatically activate office 2013, you need to use Active Directory-based activation. but this is available only for Office 2013 on Windows 8 and Windows Server 2012. So you need to do it manually.

So i am deploying a lab of newly imaged machines and the Office 2013 activation does not automatically occur. You can use the VAMT to manually activate the license without issue, it just seems odd that it doesn't happen by itself. Windows 7 Ultimate x64 activates without issue.

Have you deployed KMS on your premises for Office2013, or are you using MAK activation methods, or ADBA ?

We use KMS on site and it works great on most of the computers. When they are added to the domain the automatically activate. It really is just this one lab that office is not activating automatically. It is a new image with windows 7 x64 and Office Professional 2013.

KMS isn't related to AD-Domain membership, it's probably the DNS suffix which makes the important difference for your scenario. Check your lab is using the correct/expected DNS suffix so the clients can locate your KMS easily.

If it's a new image, maybe there is something different/missing from that new image? (compared to what the old image has).

check the event log on the client, and on the KMShost, you should be able to see the activation attempts/request/responses/results as events
