Using Exchange Load Generator
We have an Exchange 2007test environment that I'm hoping to stress test using Loadgen and Jetstress. Jetsress seems to be running on there right now but ELG is having issues. I get through all the steps, but when I get to the last step at the Configuration Summary, the initializiation and rest of the options are grayed out. All I can do is save the config file or go back to the previous screen. I've verified permissions for AD and Exchange, configured settings for pws and the access account. I do not recieve any warnings or errors at any of the screens. Any thoughts on this?

If you look in ADUC do you see the OU structure for LoadGen (contoso.com/LoadGen Objects/Users/MbxSrv/Storage Group/Mailbox Database)

Yes, but not in the root forest, which is where I'm trying to get it to create these objects. During a previous attempt last week, Loadgen created the OU structure in one of the child domains instead.

Some more info...I turned on verbose logging for loadgen and saw dozens of these errors before it threw a receipientcreation error and stalled: at Microsoft.Exchange.Swordfish.Extensions.RecipientBuilder.PowerShellHelper.RunCommand(String command, String errMsg) --- End of inner exception stack trace --- at Microsoft.Exchange.Swordfish.Extensions.RecipientBuilder.PowerShellHelper.RunCommand(String command, String errMsg) at Microsoft.Exchange.Swordfish.Extensions.RecipientBuilder.User.deleteUserViaPowerShell() at Microsoft.Exchange.Swordfish.Extensions.RecipientBuilder.Database.removeUser(User u).RecipientBuilder Error: 0 : 1/22/2009 9:18:58 AM -- Failed to delete user D9656BCA-LGU000013:Microsoft.Exchange.Swordfish.Extensions.RecipientBuilder.RecipientBuilderDirectoryObjectException: Unable to remove user D9656BCA-LGU000013 via Exchange Management Shell. ---> Microsoft.Exchange.Swordfish.Extensions.RecipientBuilder.RecipientBuilderDirectoryObjectException: The operation could not be performed because object 'D9656BCA-LGU000013' could not be found on domain controller "dc.domain.com"I looked up the users it tried to delete and whilethey do exist, it's in one of the child domains, not the root domain.I've already tried reinstalling loadgen in case it had any references to the child domain stuck somewhere, but it didnt help.

Dear customer: Please collect the following information before troubleshoot the issue. Did you install Exchange Load Generator successfully? Which version is your Exchange Load Generator? Send the loadgen log file to v-rocwan@microsoft.com for analyze. Open Event Viewer, navigate application log file, save application log file as .evt or .evtx file and send it to me. Try to login with domain admin credentials and check the effect. For more information about Exchange Load Generator, please refer to the following article: User Creation via PowerShell Did Not Succeed When Using LoadGen on Exchange Server 2007 http://support.microsoft.com/kb/944332 Exchange Load Generator (08.01.0061) http://blogs.msdn.com/hmlee/archive/2007/01/19/exchange-load-generator-08-01-0038.aspx Note: when you send e-mail to me, please let me know the URL of the post. Rock, due to the time contraint I was under, I had to open up an email case with MS and when that didn't work fast enough, I had to open up a phone case. The tech for the email case asked me to modify registry entries and other deep system changes, which I did not believe would have helped at all in this case. I spent 5-6 hours on the phone over 2-3 days with MS to get it working, but ultimately, the different variables must have lined up and I was able to get it to run successfully. I still do not know what the root of the issue was, nor does MS support.
