Using EMS or PS to stop Information Store
Hello, I have a situation where my Windows Server 2008 GUI is unresponsive and I have to hard reset the whole server. Before doing so, I'd like to cleanly dismount the MBDB and PFDB on it, as well as the SCR copy that is running. I can see how to dismount the MBDB and PFDB using EMC, but I don't see how I can "dismount" the SCR copy that is currently replaying log files and is otherwise functioning correctly. I would normally just stop the Information Store but the Servies GUI is having issues too. It will not stop a service, it just goes into "stopping" indefinitely. Further, control via command line (non-PS or EMC) is also not effective. My EMC to the remote machine is working just fine and all I want to do is make sure my mounted databases are dismounted and my SCR target that it has is stopped too, so that when I hard reset the server I do not risk any DB corruption. Anybody have any suggestions? Thanks in advance, Brit Davis

Hi Brit, Please understandt that the SCR is enabled and managed only by using the Exchange Management Shell. The Exchange Management Console cannot be used to enable or disable SCR, view SCR status, or manage any aspects of SCR.
