Users photo not updating in Outlook, and OWA

Hi,

We have a exchange 2013 SP1 with Lync server 2013  setup with Outlook 2013 SP1 and Lync 2013 on clients. Windows 2008R2 SP1 Domain Controller with Forest and domain level at 2008R2. Also we have sharepoint 2013 which allows users to update their photographs, which are then exported to AD. Outlook and Lync then get the users photo from AD.

One user had recenly changed his photo in sharepoint which has got updated in AD. However Outlook, OWA and Lync still shows the users old photograph. To verify that the photo has updated properly in AD i used the command

Export-RecipientDataProperty -Identity "User Full Name" -Picture | ForEach { $_.FileData | Add-Content C:\PhotoName.jpg -Encoding Byte}

The command exports the new photograph , confirming that the photo has been updated in AD . Also user is able to see his new photo in office 2013 appplications such as word and excel. Only OWA, outlook and Lync are affected. To test this i changed the photo of a a test user and observed the same behaviour.

Any help is appreciated.

Hi Ron,

According to your description, I understand that user photo cannot update in Outlook and OWA, however it take effect in AD.
If I misunderstand your concern, please do not hesitate to let me know.

How do you change the photo, OWA, run Set-UserPhoto or Import-RecipientDataProperty?
Please try to restart CAS server to complete change.
By the way, please refer to below file location, and delete wrong picture: C:\Program Files\Microsoft\Exchange Server\V15\ClientAccess\photos\<domain name>-<GUID>\HR96x96

Besides, I find a similar thread about GAL photo not updates after changed in Active Directory, for your reference:
