Users on outside getting bounce back messages about message size limit exceeded?
We run Exchange 2007, single instance, with a sonicwall email security gateway in front of it, for antispam. I dont have any attachment checking enabled that i can see on the sonicwall.. I've checked under org. config.. hub transport settings.. here it is set to 30,000KB max size and max size per storage group in MB at 18.. An outside user, two of them, have tried sending 16mb attachments, both get bounced, stating it exceeds the limit.. I also ran the Get-ReceiveConnector "namehere" etc syntax to check those, they are set to 20MB.. the user boxes they are sending to actually have higher limits at 70MB.. I cant figure out why these emails are being bounced.. Is there another setting somewhere i may be missing, either in exchange or maybe in the sonicwall email security device? Thanks

Basically there are 4 places where size can be controlled by default,Global/Organizational Limit, Send and Receive Connectors & User Limits. Refer below article to check these settings... Exchange 2007 Message Size Limits http://exchangeshare.wordpress.com/2008/04/24/exchange-2007-where-to-set-message-mail-size-limit/ If all are set to higher level then check in Sonicwall [you may need to check with sonicwall expert :) ] but make sure that you have restarted Exchange Transport Service to make these limits effective after changes.Amit Tank | MVP Exchange Server | MCITP: EMA | MCSA: M | http://ExchangeShare.WordPress.com
