Users Losing Permissions to Send from their own Mailbox
We have a weird issue going thru our environment. We are running Exchange 2003 SP2 and have been for quite some time. Recently we have had users lose the ability to send from their own mailboxes and also sometimes from mailboxes that they are granted permissions to like a service account mailbox. It is also affecting Misc users on our blackberry server to.. Even though the BBESADMIN account is granted Send As permissions. The problem comes and goes and does not affect everyone, but it is getting to be an issue because we can't figure out why it is happening. I have moved people to a different server and it goes away for a little while but yesterday it came back for one of the users I moved. It's like Exchange is losing its permissions or something and I really don't know how to fix it and need help. Jessica Cochran

Are those users members of AD protected groups?

Checked that and none of our groups are protected. We have a select few domain admin accounts that are protected but that is it.Jessica Cochran

Sorry should of been clearer.. By default in AD certain groups are protected. domain admins are a good example. If you modify permissions on a domain admin member, and you add a send as permission, this permission will be removed automatically by AD. I dont remember the laps of time but i think its something like 4 hours.

No we only have a handful of Domain Admins and we have two accounts for those of us that are Domain Admins.. Our email account is associated with our basic user account and does not have special permissions. Jessica Cochran
