User who is NOT a member of a DG, receiving SOME of the emails sent to that DG
This is one of the strangest things I've seen. I have a user who is not a member of a Mail Non-Universal Group on Exchange 2007, but sometimes receives mail sent to that group. I've looked at Message Tracking on emails sent to this group, and on the "Expand" step, sometimes his email address is there, sometimes it's not. There are 2 different DC's that Exchange authenticates with and I see no pattern there. This user has shown up when expanding from 1 DC or the other. It's not making any sense to me and I can't find ANYTHING online about it. Hoping for a little help here =)

Also look to see if there are any Exchange transport rules that could explain the behavior. Alexei

May be one of the following. 1. User setup a client rule to forward emails to the user 2. Transport rule. 3. Alternate recipeint set on one of the user. Did you track this message? which was recieved?Thiyagu | MCTS/MCITP - Exchange 2007 | MCSE 2003[Messaging] | http://www.myExchangeWorld.com. First, thank you so much for your reply's so far. I checked every single user who is a member of that group, and no one has any forwarding rules. No transport rules found. I did check message tracking and here is the weird part... I checked for messages sent to this group, and on the "EXPAND" step, sometimes this user gets listed, and sometimes it doesn't. It's almost like sometimes Exchange thinks this user is actually in that group and other times it doesn't.... It almost makes me think there is a Global Catalog cache somewhere but that's past my current knowledge of Exchange so what do you guys think?

Hi, 1. Try to add the users to the DG, click OK to apply. 2. Remove the users from the DG, click Ok to apply. Then test to see if the issue persists. Please remember to click Mark as Answer on the post that helps you, and to click Unmark as Answer if a marked post does not actually answer your question. This can be beneficial to other community members reading the thread. Thanks Gen Lin-MSFT

Suriya, Interesting links, I'll check them out. Gen Lin, I was thinking about giving that a shot next so I'll do that this morning and track some emails to see if there is any different result. I'll let you know how it goes!
