User unable to log into domain joined PC after resetting the password
Issue (Part I): One user who got his password reset by connecting to the nearest domain controller to reduce latency, was unable to log in using the password provided. The error that he kept getting was to check with his password. Later after 3-4 attempts he gets the error message that the ACCOUNT HAS BEEN LOCKED OUT. Checked in AD and found that the account was indeed locked. Unlocked the account, reset the password once again and asked him to log in using the new password, this time the only change that I did was not keep the check box unchecked which stated "User must change the password at next logon." This time he was able to log in using the password which we provided. Issue (Part II): Now, he logged off from the 1st computer and tried to log into another computer in the same domain. He again started getting the same error message which asked him to check with his password. Again we reset the password but he kept getting the message that the password is incorrect. Now, this time we went ahead and once again connected to the nearest DC and reset his password and also kep the check box checked which stated "User must change the password at next logon." He went back to computer 1 and tried to log in and he was successful in logging in. Asked him to try and change the password this time but when he went to change the password he is getting the error message that the domain is not available. Tried to launch OWA from our end to check with the password and was able to log in fine with the credentials. Could not find any issues with the user account in AD. Or maybe I am not looking at the right places! Need a resolution! Me stuck now! Can a uses get the message to check with the password if a computer has lost trust with the domain?Suman

Hi According to your saying, owa works well. So it is AD issue. We can’t answer your AD issue in exchange forum. Please remember to click Mark as Answer on the post that helps you, and to click Unmark as Answer if a marked post does not actually answer your question. This can be beneficial to other community members reading the thread.
