User is not receiving new mail items in Inbox
I received a case where 1 user is unable to receive mail in her Inbox.  New messages are received in the top-level folder in her mailbox.

I configured her mailbox for my pc and the same problem resulted.  I also checked OWA and the same problem exists there as well.  I checked to see if she had any rules and there aren't any that would cause this.

Does anyone have any insight on why this is

Hi ,

1.What did you meant by top level folder ? If possible please share us the snap ?

2.Please check the output for the below mentioned command in exchange management shell.

Get-InboxRule -Mailbox "problematic mailbox" | fl

Thank you for the quick reply.  By top level folder, I meant the folder that is blacked out in the screenshot.  After synchronizing messages, the message are not getting to the Inbox.  For some reason they are only going as far as this top level folder.  From the EMS, I used the cmdlet from above and the user only has 1 rule which is the same rule I already saw.

Hi ,

There might be some possibilities to have the corrupted hidden rules on the exchange mailbox. So we need to check that too with the help of MFCMAPI tool.

Hi,

Please follow S.Nithyanandham's suggestion to have a try. If it doesn't work and the issue only happens to one specific user, please move this mailbox to another database and check whether the issue persists.

If it doesn't work, I suggest we can create a new mailbox for this problematic user, then export the mailbox data to PST file and import it to new mailbox as a workaround.

Thank you  S.Nithyanandham.   Using MFCMapi to knock out the bad rule resolved the problem.  Thank you so much for your help.
