User getting logged out of OWA
Hey All I am currently using Microsoft Windows Server 2003 Small Business Server SP2 with Exchange 2003 SP2. I have a specific AD user who logs into the OWA fine but after reading a couple of emails gets kicked out and asked to log into OWA again. This is specific to this user and can be recreated easily. I have logged in on a few of the computers here and randomly opened and closed a few emails within less than a minute to get kicked out. I don't see anything in the Event Viewer that is out of the ordinary. I briefly looked at the IIS logs for the OWA site and saw that after opening an email the next entry is to GET the authentication page again. Thanks for your help

Issue description: One specific user gets kicked out via OWA after reading some messages, and the symptom can be reproduced on other PC with this user Does there have any other servers between the users can SBS server when they access the OWA, like ISA server? Please login to problematic mailbox via OWA again, wait for a while without doing anything, and see if the symptom recurs, which can tell if its the actions that kick user out. Did the issue always occur if user reads mails? Could you post the IIS trace at here for checking? Also, refer KB q246248 to increase diagnostics logging for OWA Please check if Hotfix 928872 can fix the issue Notes: For the issue of exchange on a SBS server, please use SBS Newsgroup which would be the best place for the question

If still below steps mentioned by James are not resolving your issue i would try moving his mailbox to different store and do analysis of the same. Vinod |CCNA|MCSE 2003 +Messaging|MCTS|ITIL V3|

Thanks James. I'll try the hotfix and then go from there. I'll let you know results tomorrow sometimes. I'll be sure to post in the SBS Newsgroup from now on. I didn't think about it since it was exchange related. Thanks again!

James The hotfix didn't fix the issue. I will increase the diagnostics and post something when I get some logs.

James the article above is for Exchange 5.5. I didn't see some of the logging options in the article. I am not sure about IIS Trace. I haven't used it before. Could you give me a little help on that?

Please base on this article to enable IIS log and reproduce the issue once or twice, and check the log Please go to Diagnostics Logging, and enable the following categories, and reproduce the issue: a. Click MSExchangeDSAccess in the left-pane, and set General, LDAP Interface to Maximum in the right-pane b. Click MSExchangeIS->System in the left-pane, and set Connections and General to Maximum in the right-pane c. Click MSExchangeIS->Mailbox in the left-pane, and set General and Logons to Maximum in the right-pane Notes: Please dont forget to set all things back after the testing
