User e-mail disapeared / deleted
Hi Guys, I'm new here and I'm still learning exchange, I tried to find for an answer for this question but maybe I did not search it properly, so I'm sorry if it have been posted already :) I have an user stating that his e-mails disapeared from the server, he just use OWA, so it eliminates any outlook config issue, I logged into his account and he has only e-mails since last Friday, no one else have complained about something similar and the server and exchange server is up and running for the past 2 weeks. My question is: is there a way to find out if the user deleted the messages by mistake, or what may happened (where did those messages go?). I have a feeling that he may have deleted it by mistake, but I'd like to be more sure as I'm limited on my exchange knowledge as well. I'm running Exchange Server 2003 SP2 Thanks a lot !

Have you checked Junk Mail? Could be that user got overly aggressive with blocking and did a block on a whole domain.

This most frequently is caused by a user who has configured an Outlook profile to deliver new items to personal folders. I know you said he uses OWA only, but you might want to check again. Perhaps the old mail is sitting in a PST file on his home machine or something like that. Also, this is sometimes caused by use of a POP client, which will remove everything from the server unless configured otherwise.-- Ed Crowley MVP"There are seldom good technological solutions to behavioral problems.".
