User Receiving Jumbled E-Mail from Outside Sender....
First, let me say that I am new to Exchange, so this may be a dumb question, but I need to find an answer to this issue. Here is a little background. We have a very large customer who has several locations spread throughout the U.S. The customeris running Novell GroupWise 7.0.1., and provides thatto it's locations as a central E-Mail server, however, the individual locations (as far as weknow )haveno computer support and are left to maintain their own computers as they are individually operated. Now, from time to time, one of our users ( using Exchange Server 2003 and Outlook 2003 as the client )receives an E-Mail message from someone at this company and the E-Mail comes through completely garbled. It appears that the sender is trying to attach some sort of image file and I also see that it is being sent in base64. This issueisa hit or miss situation. Most of the time the messages come through alright. We suspect that something is occurring at the client level on our customers PC, butbecause they are an important customer, we have been asked to look into this. I have attached the actual E-Mail that came through ( with the specificnames edited out ) : ------------------------------------- From: Sent: Wednesday, November 07, 2007 2:42 PM Subject: In-Reply-To: 76CC06EA79864546914101D5F8EDAC2162B28B@aaa.com Message-ID: <4731A47B.8BC8.0018.0@xxxx.com> X-Mailer: Groupwise 7.0.1 From: xxx@xxxx.xom Cc: bbb@aaa.com X-ASG-Orig-Subj: RE: Status on Gearbox Subject: RE: Status on Gearbox To: Our User's E-Mail address Content-Type: multipart/alternative; boundary="____SNXTNGLJLDDTGZCPQDTH____" X-Barracuda-Connect: exprod8og55.obsmtp.com[64.18.3.92] X-Barracuda-Start-Time: 1194464536 X-Barracuda-Virus-Scanned: by Barracuda Spam Firewall at aaa.com Return-Path: xxx@xxxx.com X-OriginalArrivalTime: 07 Nov 2007 19:43:46.0561 (UTC) FILETIME=[82DF9F10:01C82176] --____SNXTNGLJLDDTGZCPQDTH____ Content-Type: text/plain; charset=utf-8 Content-Transfer-Encoding: base64 Content-Disposition: inline; modification-date="Thu, 7 Nov 2007 03:41:49 -0800" SGVsbG8gUmFscGgsDQogICAgICAgICBJIHN0aWxsIGhhdmVudCByY3ZkIHRoaXMgZ2VhcmJveC4u Li5jb3VsZCB5b3UgY2hlY2sgc3RhdHVzIGFuZCBnZXQgYmFjayB0byBtZT8uLi4uSSB3b3VsZCBo YXRlIHRvIG5lZWQgaXQgYW4gbm90IGhhdmUgaXQuDQpQbGVhc2UgYWR2aXNlDQpUSEFOS1MNCg0K RmVybmFuZG8gVmFsZGV6DQpJbnZlbnRvcnkgUm9vbSBGb3JlbWFuDQpMZXByaW5vIEZvb2RzLCBM ZW1vb3JlIFdlc3QNCjM1MSBOLiBCZWxsZSBIYXZlbiBEci4NCkxlbW9vcmUsIENBIDkzMjQ1DQo1 NTktOTI1LTczMjggKHBob25lKQ0KNTU5LTkyNS03MzY3IChmYXgpDQoNCmVtYWlsOiBmdmFsZGV6 QGxlcHJpbm9mb29kcy5jb20NCg0KDQo+Pj4gIkd1aXNlciwgUmFscGgiIDxyZ3Vpc2VyQGFtZmF1 dG9tYXRpb24uY29tPiAxMC8yMy8yMDA3IDQ6NTMgQU0gPj4+DQoNCknigJl2ZSBpbnF1aXJlZCBh bmQgd2lsbCBsZXQgeW91IGtub3cuICBTb3JyeSBmb3IgdGhlIGRlbGF5LiAgSSB3YXMgZXhwZWN0 aW5nIHRvIGhhdmUgYWxyZWFkeSBoYWQgdGhhdCByZXNvbHZlZCBieSB0aGUgdmVuZG9yLg0KIA0K UmVnYXJkcywgDQpSYWxwaCBHdWlzZXINCkFNRiBBdXRvbWF0aW9uIFBhcnRzIFNhbGVzIFJlcHJl c2VudGF0aXZlDQo4MDQtMzQyLTk3MjcNCkZheDogODA0LTM0Mi05NzU1DQpyZ3Vpc2VyQGFtZmF1 dG9tYXRpb24uY29tIA0KIA0KIA0KDQoNCg0KDQpGcm9tOiBGZXJuYW5kbyBWYWxkZXogW21haWx0 bzpGVmFsZGV6QGxlcHJpbm9mb29kcy5jb21dIA0KU2VudDogTW9uZGF5LCBPY3RvYmVyIDIyLCAy MDA3IDU6NTkgUE0NClRvOiBHdWlzZXIsIFJhbHBoDQpTdWJqZWN0OiBTdGF0dXMgb24gR2VhcmJv eA0KIA0KSGVsbG8gUmFscGgsDQogICAgICAgQ291bGQgeW91IHBsZWFzZSBsZXQgbWUga25vdyB0 aGUgc3RhdHVzIG9mIFJHLTA3LTAwOD8NCiAgICAgICAgICAgICAgUGxlYXNlIGFkdmlzZSBFVEEN CiAgICAgICAgICAgICAgICAgICAgICAgICAgICAgICAgICAgIFRIQU5LUyENCiANCkZlcm5hbmRv IFZhbGRleg0KSW52ZW50b3J5IFJvb20gRm9yZW1hbg0KTGVwcmlubyBGb29kcywgTGVtb29yZSBX ZXN0DQozNTEgTi4gQmVsbGUgSGF2ZW4gRHIuDQpMZW1vb3JlLCBDQSA5MzI0NQ0KNTU5LTkyNS03 MzI4IChwaG9uZSkNCjU1OS05MjUtNzM2NyAoZmF4KQ0KIA0KZW1haWw6IGZ2YWxkZXpAbGVwcmlu b2Zvb2RzLmNvbQ== --____SNXTNGLJLDDTGZCPQDTH____ Content-Type: multipart/related; boundary="____PUKZWXXHKDDEGWVZTEED____" --____PUKZWXXHKDDEGWVZTEED____ Content-Type: text/html; charset=utf-8 Content-Transfer-Encoding: base64 Content-Disposition: inline; filename="Text.htm"; modification-date="Thu, 7 Nov 2007 03:41:49 -0800" PEhUTUw+PEhFQUQ+DQo8TUVUQSBodHRwLWVxdWl2PUNvbnRlbnQtVHlwZSBjb250ZW50PSJ0ZXh0 L2h0bWw7IGNoYXJzZXQ9dXRmLTgiPg0KPE1FVEEgY29udGVudD0iTVNIVE1MIDYuMDAuMzc5MC4y NjQzIiBuYW1lPUdFTkVSQVRPUj48L0hFQUQ+DQo8Qk9EWSBzdHlsZT0iTUFSR0lOOiA0cHggNHB4 --edited for length-- VE1MPg== --____PUKZWXXHKDDEGWVZTEED____ Content-ID: <LTHKTLEAAUPX.IMAGE.jpeg> Content-Type: image/jpeg Content-Transfer-Encoding: base64 /9j/4AAQSkZJRgABAQEAYABgAAD/2wBDAAoHBwgHBgoICAgLCgoLDhgQDg0NDh0VFhEYIx8lJCIf IiEmKzcvJik0KSEiMEExNDk7Pj4+JS5ESUM8SDc9Pjv/2wBDAQoLCw4NDhwQEBw7KCIoOzs7Ozs7 Ozs7Ozs7Ozs7Ozs7Ozs7Ozs7Ozs7Ozs7Ozs7Ozs7Ozs7Ozs7Ozs7Ozs7Ozv/wAARCABsAcQDASIA --edited for length-- KKKACiiigAooooAKKKKACiiigAooooAKKKKACiiigAooooAKKKKACiiigD//2Q== --____PUKZWXXHKDDEGWVZTEED____-- --____SNXTNGLJLDDTGZCPQDTH____-- --------------------------- Please let me know if I can provide any further information.
