User Mailbox management from Windows Server 2008 R2 AD
Hello everyone, I am kinda new to AD and Exchange server management. Windows Server 2008 R2 Active Directory was recently added. Currently running Exchange Server 2007 SP1. When creating a user account from 2008 R2 AD, creating user mailbox option no longer available. Is this a default behavior and can I add the feature? It was available when we had Windows Server 2003 R2 AD environment. Thank you.

Hi It is not possible to manage Exchange 2007 & 2010 from AD Users and Computers. You need to perform the mailbox management from the Exchange console or shell - you can create users there too. Cheers, Steve

Windows Server 2008 R2 Active Directory was recently added. Currently running Exchange Server 2007 SP1. It's a good practice to install the latest Service Pack and Rollup for Exchange server(Exchange 2007 SP3 Rollup 6). How to Install the Latest Service Pack or Update Rollup for Exchange 2007 http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ee221147(v=exchg.80).aspx Exchange Server 2007 Service Pack 3 http://www.microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?id=24111 Update Rollup 6 for Exchange Server 2007 Service Pack 3 (KB2608656) http://www.microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?id=28751 "Is this a default behavior and can I add the feature? " You can install Exchange 2007 SP3 Management Tool on the DC then manage Exchange server via EMC or EMS.
