Use EMC to manage Exchange 2003
Just a quick question to which I'm sure there is a quick answer. I have a test lab configured with an Exchange 2003 and Exchange 2007 server to start testing our migration. I can use the Exchange 2003 tools to manage my 2003 server, and view my 2007 server. However, I can only see the 2007 server using EMC. Any thoughts?First server installed was Exchange 2003, running SP2 + Updates, on Windows Server 2003 R2 SP2. Exchange 2007 with SP1 + updates running on Windows Server 2008.TIA.

Hello, Well, Exchange 2003 & 2007 have little different architecture. You can see Exchange 2007 objects in ESM but blocked for editing and you shouldnt use ESM to manage Exchange 2007 servers/objects. Similarly you can not see legacy Exchange object in EMC to manage. Refer below article to keep certain points in mind while managing Exchange in co-existence. Thanks very much for that. I thought that was the case, but just wanted to clarify my understanding. If I wanted to modify the behaviour of the RG between the servers I assume this can only be done through the command shell? For example, in production I would want multiple bridgehead servers in the RG.

You are welcome... Yes you need to use Set-RoutingGroupConnector cmdlet to add/modify the bridgehead servers in default RGC. You can refer below similar thread. https://forums.microsoft.com/TechNet/ShowPost.aspx?PostID=3913246&SiteID=17
