Upgrading from Exchange 2013 SP1 to CU9

Hi Guys,

I am planning to upgrade from exchange 2013 SP1 to CU9.

I have heard some folks say upgrading from versions n-2 is the officially supported procedure. I have also heard some other folks say its possible to do otherwise without having to do multiple hops.

Anyone had any experience going from SP1 to CU8 or CU9?

I appreciate your inputs.

You can go from any prior update to the latest without any problems.

I personally have done RTM to CU7, and have done a lot of SP1 (aka CU4) to the latest.

If anyone is telling you otherwise, ask them to point to official documentation stating that - as I don't think it exists.

What could be happening is that they are getting confused with the support matrix for Exchange 2013. Microsoft only support the current and the previous cumulative update (and probably n -2 at a push shortly after a CU has been released).

Thanks Simon,

I must say I completely agree with you, I have not seen any official document that says otherwise. I am presently setting up a lab to try out the upgrade before I proceed to my production servers.

Thanks again good Sir ..
