Upgrading .Net framework.
Hello, I’ve been monitoring the installation of security patch [MS10-070] on my servers and noticed a couple of my Exchange 2007-sp2 servers did not receive the patch. Looking closer I see it is because these servers are running .net v2.0 sp1 rather than v2.0 sp2. These servers are running Windows Server 2003-sp2-x64. Question: What is the most appropriate way to install v2.0 sp2 so that these servers will get the recent .NET security update? - Via a blocked [hidden] Windows Update [KB951847] (which will also install the .net v3.x/3.5 family). - Via a specific .Net download off the MS site (if so, which is the appropriate KB for adding .Net v2.0 sp2 – x64). - Via some other method. Note: At the time these servers were installed only .Net v2.0 sp1 was available and .Net v3.5 wasn’t recommended because of a known problem with OWA.

I have never seen any issues with net framework 3.5 and OWA, so I would go straight to that version, then run Windows Update to get the post 3.5 installation updates. Don't install version 4 though, that can cause problems and unlike 3.5, 3 and 2, is a completely new version. Simon.Simon Butler, Exchange MVP Blog | Exchange Resources
