I've had a template posted to my company's SharePoint site for several months during which I've made several changes.  Up to now, I've had users pass along their documents to me when they need to add a value to a content control that's been updated (mainly entries in a drop down list).  I've gathered that XML presents an option for updating content control values programatically and this sounds neat, but I have zero experience with XML.  If this is the only way to do what I need to do, then I'll have to learn a few things and that's fine.  So please let me know anything you can about ways to update content control or other template data in documents created from that template and any sources of information that might be helpful.
