Updating Address List - Exchange 2010
Hi, I have a Windows 2008 R2 domain and Exchange 2010 servers: 1 Maibox, 1 CAS and 1 Hub Transport . I have an coexistence environment envolving a Linux mail server, that will be removed. So, I am creating contacts that will be deleted when I create the respective mailbox. But the problem is when I delete the contact and I create the mailbox, the users still seeing the contact. I already run the command to update the Address List. How can I fix the problem to users can see the mailbox instead the deleted contact? Thanks for while. Luiz

Do they users still see the contact when viewing the GAL from OWA or Outlook in online mode? Sounds like you need just to update the OAB ( and the clients will need to download it) The other issue you will run into is cached entries for those old contacts in Outlook. You may want to think about adding the old contact's legacyExchangeDNs as custom x500 addresses to the new mailbox you create for each account.

Hi Andy, thanks for the help. The problem is the Cache Mode Enable option. Another question, can I change the Outlook OAB download from 24 hours to a lower time? Thanks for the help. Best Regards. Luiz

Yes, instructions on how to do that: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/841273 Or have the clients download it manually or close and reopen Outlook. Since the client will get the changes within typically 24 hours, its probably easier to simply let things work.
