Update GAL-Why does it take so long?
Just a simple question: why does it take so long for new users to appear in the GAL after launching a GAL update? I often don't see the new users showing-up in the GAL until the next day.

Just a simple question: why does it take so long for new users to appear in the GAL after launching a GAL update? I often don't see the new users showing-up in the GAL until the next day. You might be talking about Outlook OAB, which is generated on exchange server once in a day, and thus available to OL clients after that. GALs are updated immediately when you run update-globalAdderssList and then immediately become available in OL and OWA. So if u are having GAL problem then first make sure that you have the updadted GAL in OWA and then check in outlook. Laeeq, Yes, you're correct...I should have referenced the Outlook OAB in my question rather than the GAL. Nonetheless, your reply answered my question...thanks!
