UpdateURL

We have a multiple DP environment with an Office 365 share on each DP.

We install and update from the DPs using a configuration file that specifies the local DP as the sourcePath and UpdatePath and it all works perfectly. However we have users who travel outside of the company and would like them to update from the Content Distribution Network when not on premises.

Is there any way, other than writing a batch file to check the location and update the registry key hklm\software\office\15.0\clicktorun\configure - UpdateURL everytime a user moves on an off the premises.

Ideally I would like to have a secondary UpdateURL as a fallback should the primary one be unavailable.

Does anyone know if this is a possibility?

Hi,

Based on my research, we can't use multiple on-premises location to install update via configuration.xml file. There is one URL element in the syntax.

Thus, we might need to use the method you mentioned above. >> writing a batch file to check the location and update the registry key hklm\software\office\15.0\clicktorun\configure - UpdateURL everytime a user moves on an off the premises. <<
