Up-grading from Exch 2003 standard to Exch 2003 Enterprise issue
When I attempt the upgrade installation, following the procedure from KB 170280, I am not presented with a reinstall button. I've verified in the registry the version using kb 240152. it is showing 9161A261-6ABE-4668-BBFA-AD06B3F642CF:
Standard Full Packaged Product (FPP). The version cd that I am using reads MS exchange 2003 server enterprise. Is there an alternative way to install this package or something that I am overlooking?
Server is win 2003 32bit, sp 2 running on a HP dl380.
Thanks.David Firestone

Frank,
Thank you for your response. I saw and read KB 312426, but I didn't make the changes. Because I wasnt' sure IF the values hold true for 2003? I don't want to screw up an exchange registry. KB states:
if Decimal value for Radix, change the existing value (4629) in the Data box to 4417.
If the Hex option under Radix, change the existing value (1215) in the Data box to 1141.
Are these appropriate values for exch 2003?
Thanks.David Firestone

According to this:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/158530
That's the RTM build:
Microsoft Exchange Server 2003 6.5.6944
October 2003
Your "ServicePackBuild" is 7638.
I'd wait to hear from MS on what a safe value might be to put into the
"NewestBuild". If you wanted to be bold, I suppose you could try using
6943. :-)

Hi David,
Please download the EXBPA to run a system scan:
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/en/details.aspx?FamilyID=dbab201f-4bee-4943-ac22-e2ddbd258df3&displaylang=en
If there is no error message, please backup the registry first, then delete the NewestBuild and re-create it. After that, please restart the Exchange and try to upgrade again.
If you still cannot upgrade, please delete the NewestBuild and upgrade directly.Frank Wang
