Uninstall error - need help!
Hub Transport Role I keep getting this error preventing me from uninstalling Exchange 2010 Error: The following error was generated when "$error.Clear(); unconfigure-WSManIISHosting;" was run: "Access to the path 'C:\Windows\system32\inetsrv\config\schema\wsmanconfig_schema.xml' is denied.". Access to the path 'C:\Windows\system32\inetsrv\config\schema\wsmanconfig_schema.xml' is denied. I've assigned ownership of the object to the Administrators group, and yet it still gives me the error. Can anyone please help me? I need to get rid of this install and start fresh. thanks in advance!

Hi, You need to take ownership of that file, to do this… 1) Browse to the directory C:\Windows\System32\inetsrv\config\schem]. 2) Right Click on the wsmanconfig_schema.xml and select properties. 3) Click the security tab. 4) Click the Advanced button. 5) Select the Owner tab. 6) Click the Edit Button. 7) Select the Administrators group. 8) Click Apply. 9) Click OK. 10) Perform the uninstall of the Hub Transport Role I hope this will help you. Uh, I wrote in my post that I had already done that, and it didn't work.

Hi Penny67, Did you use the account which you installed the Exchange server 2010? You can also rename the schema folder to schema.old, and create a new folder with name as schema, then copy all files from schema.old to the new one and try to uninstall again.Frank Wang

Frank, It turns out that I had a few more server issues than just Exchange, so I ended up wiping it clean and throwing on a new image, then reinstalling Exchange a second time. Second time went great and have had no problems other than sending mail to SharePoint libraries and lists - but that's for another forum!
