Unicode character issue in word 2010

Hi Team,

We have inserted a C in unicode format(Alt+2103) in word 2000. While opening with 2010 version of word, the symbol is displayed as square with the font Times New Roman and as vertical line with the font Arial. But in all other word versions(2007,2013,2000) this symbol is displayed properly in the same fonts.

Can you please let us know what could be the issue? It will be great if you could share any information regarding what difference in encoding format between word 2010 and other versions which is causing this issue. Kindly let us know if the fonts Times New Roman and Arial are having any issues with symbols in unicode in word 2010.

Hi Wang,

We are able to reproduce the issue. Insert a unicode letterlike symbol C(Alt+2103)( or you can copy the symbol from here and paste it) and change the font to Times New Roman or Arial. Try opening the document in word 2010. The symbol will appear as squares
