Unable to validate the state of Active Directory
I am in the process of installing Exchange 2007 and have had to format the server after the first install corrupted. Before the format I tried to remove Exchange 2007 and all components but this returned errors. After some investigation I used ADSIEdit to delete the Exchange 2007 container in AD. Since then I have reinstalled the OS and am now trying to reinstall Exchange 2007. It is now returning the following error " Setup encountered a problem while trying to validate the state of Active Directory. Failed to reconnect to Active Directory" It does seem to have picked up the mailboxes but has not installed the Mailbox Role on the server, obviously it is not connecting to AD. Can someone please point me in the right direction . Thanks Bruce

Had this error when installing Exchange 2007.This is going to sound stupid....but I had to run the setup as domain.local\Administrator instead of DOMAIN\Administrator.It worked after doing this...No idea why.
