Unable to uninstall Mailbox Role - Some Controls Aren't Valid error
I have inherited an Exc2010 environment with 2 servers. 1 has the Hub Transport, Client Access, Mailbox and Unified Messaging Role The other just has a mailbox role and was just used for testing. I no longer require this additional server and wish to remove it cleanly. If I run uninstall from control panel, the Exc Server 2010 setup wizard starts, and has the mailbox server role checked. If I click next to begin uninstall, I get the following error message Some Controls aren't valid - Please specify an existing server role(s) to uninstall. It's as if the server doesnt realise it has the role installed. The Exc management console shows this server as having the role installed. This 2nd server also doesnt have a valid licence key and is due to expire in 6 days - I dont know if this has any bearing on the errors I'm seeing? Any ideas anyone? Thanks Paul

Are you leaving the Mailbox Role checked? You need to "uncheck" the role that you want to uninstall and then click next. The license key has nothing to do with it. See: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ee332361.aspxTim Harrington - Catapult Systems - http://HowDoUC.blogspot.com
