Unable to share calendar with a certain user
Hi all,I've added a new employee to the active directory with exchange account. All is fine except I can't share a calendar with this user due to network settings.I can't find where I can change any rights to allow accepting calendar shares, neither on the exchange server or on the windows server.Someone who can guide me to where I can find such settings? Thanks in advance, kind regards.Matthias.

Hi Matthias,Exchange 2007 or exchange 2003? Outlook 2007 or 2003? Outlook connects to exchange using MAPI or POP3?How do you share the calendar? Is there any error messages? If outlook 2007, do you share it like this:Nevigate to Calendar->right click the Calendar->Change Sharing Permission...Or the user cannot accept the share, and is there any error messages? Please provide more information about your question.Frank Wang

Hi Frank, My apologies for the late answer, I must have missed the notification. We use Exchange 2003 and Outlook 2007. I'm not sure about the connection type, I'm using the standard way to connect to an exchange account, so I guess MAPI? I'm sharing it as you describe and have indeed tried to grant the user to share with rights to the calendar, which works. But when I then try to invite him to share the calendar, using an email invitation, I receive a message saying the calendar can't be shared with that specific user due to network settings. Sharing with all other users works fine. The specific user does not have any other errors. Thanks in advance for your help. Matthias.

I am having the same issue, did you get it resolved? Thanks! Jessica

Matthias, I recently had this issue and resolved it by converting the user account to a regular user. In my case, the account that failed was a shared account. The command I used was: Set-Mailbox "mailbox display name" -Type:Regular Hope this helps. Thanks Luos
