Unable to send email message thru the exchange 2003
GreetingsI have a micorosft 2003 small business server with 2003 exchange installed. We have an host email provider. And computers connected on the domain gets email via the exchange not direct to the host provider. THE PROBLEM is that whenever I send emails from any other active users outlookto someone who is not on the active user like to user2@test.comwhich solely gets emails to the webmail on our email host. It reply directly that the email is not on the organization as it like the account doesnt exist.Whats the solution? Many thanks

Is your internal mailflow is working fine? is it happening to one particular domain? was there any changes done recently on your network? please make sure that your exchange can talk to internet. MS has a nice tool to troubleshoot the mailflow issue i would suggest you start from that http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?familyid=4bdc1d6b-de34-4f1c-aeba-fed1256caf9a&displaylang=enVinod |CCNA|MCSE 2003 +Messaging|MCTS|ITIL V3|

Hi Breneer, Which server generated the NDR? Your server or the remote server? I would like to explain Exchange will do local lookup firstly if you try to send mail to outbound. Let's say, if you set your domain as hotmail.com and you would like to send to elvis@hotmail.com which is hold by Microsoft server. Exchange will generate a NDR locally and you can't send email out of your organization. thanks, Elvis
