Unable to save ShapeSheet settings

Hi Guys,

I have a hyperlink embedded in a shape. In the ShapeSheet, under Hyperlinks, I changed its NewWindow attribute to True (=True). I save it (Ctrl + S), and Save the document as (Save as) a Web Page but the changes do not reflect. The hyperlink still opens up in the same page. What is it that I am doing wrong?

Thanks in advance.

Hi Nikhil,

Based on your description, my understanding is you wonder to change the New Window attribute of Visio to True, then you save Visio as Web Page, you wonder to open the hyperlink in a new window. But now after changing the New Window attribute of Visio to True nothing happened, the setting still is False. Could you tell me which kind of browser are you using? Which kind of formatting did you save as, *.html or *.vdw?

As far as I know the New Window setting will only work for HTML web pages (*.htm) and not Web Drawings (*.vdw). If youre using Web Drawings occur this issue, I suggest you save the drawing as a web page (*.html; *.htm) format and use that instead be a workaround.

Please refer to the answer of Aaron Rykhus MSFT in this post:

In addition, I test your issue in my own environment (IE), I find if I dont press Enter button but directly click the X in the upper-right corner of the ShapeSheet window to close it, and it wont save the change in ShapeSheet. So please make sure the color of changing the setting in ShapeSheet is blue as shown in the following figure.

If my understanding is incorrect, please be a bit more precise explain your problem so that I can get more accurate solutions to this problem.

Hope its helpful.
