Unable to remove Exchange 2007 Public Folder Database using MoveAllReplicas.ps1
I'm trying to remove a "public folder database" This was created in the wrong storage group. When I try to remove it I get the following error. The public folder database Database_Name cannot be deleted. Error: The public folder database specified contains folder replicas. Before deleting the public folder database, remove the folders or move the replicas to another public folder database. I have been following this MS post (http://goo.gl/cymXD) to try and move/remove all replication aspects of the public store before it can be removed but I still see information listed under the public store which should be blank. This is a new 2nd Exchange server which has been installed in the organisation for a migration to take place. I'm unsure why this new public folder created this would simple start replicating? I also don't understand how to remove the corrupted value shown below? Many Thanks!

Hi, These system folders is server specific and there's no need to move them to a different server using the script MoveAllReplicas. Just delete them using EMS or the Public Folder Management Console, before you remove the PF Database.Martina Miskovic

Thank you for the comment. I originally ran this command against both servers. Get-PublicFolderStatistics -Server <SERVERNAME> The values listed (screenshot above) were showing against both public mail stores. This morning I ran the same command on the public store being removed and no information was displayed against the public folder, so I presume that the "MoveAllReplicas.ps1" takes time to update the information in the public store? I was then able to delete the public store without any problems from the EMC Thanks,

Hi, The values in the picture above is only showing the items on FDC-Exchange. For next time, just remember that you don't need to replicate/move them to a different server, since they are server specific. It doesn't matter that you used moveallreplias (yes that usually takes time), these folder will not do any harm on the second server. They will not be used at all.Martina Miskovic

Thanks I will remember this for future reference. Am I correct in thinking that the public folder can not be deleted if values are listed? I see that you can just manually delete these values (rather than transferring them to another store) and the new store created will automatically recreate these. globaleventsinternalOWAScratchPad{98FACA57-74A0-4B60-AB6E-F3-4ED4D8CC02}StoreEvents{98FACA57-74A0-4B60-AB6E-F34E-D4D8CC02}
