Unable to receive outside mail through alias email address

My domain is scooters.com.

I went into the godaddy console and put the identical a record and mx record into skateboards.com.

Which is another domain i own in the console.

I can access skateboards.com through owa as if it is scooters.com.

I can send and receive between scooters.com and skateboards.com.

however I cannot receive incoming email in skateboards.com from anywhere else.

Anyone in my organization can send mail with a skateboards.com email but can't receive replies.

They can send but not receive.

Did you add skateboards.com as an Accepted Domain in Exchange?

Hi ,

In addition to Bruce JDC suggestions we can make use of EXRCA tool to do the inbound email test for anyone of the valid mailbox which is having the email address with domain suffix skateboards.com.

If you look at the email addresses for some of your users, do they have email addresses in skateboards.com ?

Either you forget to add the Accepted Domain in Exchange (and wait a bit), or you mess with your Receive Connector by removing anonymous logon.

I am not I replaced the address with a made up one so I wouldn't post it here.

I get enough spam. Im only using yahoo to test my internal exchange server being able to receive from outside. could have changed it to nobody@yahoo.com I just happened to put a made up gmail address. really the real address was a yahoo ad

Hi,

According to your post, I understand that skateboards.com cannot receive message from external after register its MX record in Godaddy.
If I misunderstand your concern, please do not hesitate to let me know.

When you read the error it makes you think there is something wrong with your email client, however your email client should have SMTP Authentication turned on.
Please try to check the setting about your mail client first, for example check "My Server Requires Authentication" in Outlook for IMAP or POP3 account.
Then please run Microsoft Remote Connectivity Analyzer(https://testconnectivity.microsoft.com/) to test inbound mail flow.

Besides, please double confirm whether you have correct DNS, Reverse DNS(PTR records), SPF records for new Exchange address.

In addition to all the above suggestions can you please try dropping an email to skateboards.com recipient  through telnet to see in which transit the connection gets dropped ?
