Unable to move a mailbox database to a new disk partition
I have an Exchange 2007 CCR cluster. Both nodes in the cluster are running Windows 2008. I am trying to move a mail database to a new disk partition. I have successfully run the following commands: "Suspend-StorageGroupCopy -Identity SJC01-MAIL1\SG14" and then "Dismount-Database -Identity SJC01-MAIL1\SG14\MailboxDB14 ". When I run the following command: [PS] C:\>Move-DatabasePath -Identity sjc01-mail1\SG14\MailboxDB14 -EdbFilePath E:\Exchange\SG14\MailboxDB14.edb -ConfigurationOnly I receive this error message: Move-DatabasePath : Failed to connect to the target server "SJC01-MAIL1". The e xception message is "WMI exception occured on server 'SJC01-MAIL1.teslamotors.c om': Access is denied. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x80070005 (E_ACCESSDENIED))". At line:1 char:18 + Move-DatabasePath <<<< -Identity sjc01-mail1\SG14\MailboxDB14 -EdbFilePath E :\Exchange\SG14\MailboxDB14.edb -ConfigurationOnly [PS] C:\> Any idea what the problem may be? Thanks.

Do you have the same disk structure and letters on both CCR nodes? is the windows firewall enabled on one of the boxes? Are you running the EMC as an administrator account that is also in org admins? Mike Crowley Check out My Blog!

Hi, Regarding to the error message, it can occur by incorrect permission. To perform this procedure, the account you use must be delegated the Exchange Server Administrator role and local Administrators group for the target server. For more information about permissions, delegating roles, and the rights that are required to administer Microsoft Exchange Server 2007, see Permission Considerations. Please assure the permission is assigned correctly, and then refer to the following article to move the database in CCR environment again. http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa997646(EXCHG.80).aspx Thanks.Novak Wu-MSFT
