Sometimes when you create new SG and DB, admin tools communicate with one DC, short afterwards you try to mount DB but the mount-database command communicates with another DC/GC and the mount will fail because AD replication has not finished yet. Resolution is to wait a couple of minutes to let AD replication finish and then mount the DB.lasse at humandata dot se, http://anewmessagehasarrived.blogspot.com

Issue description: Database cant be mounted on the clustered mailbox server (CMS) Check info: 1. Please describe more about the exchange topology, is it CCR or SCC? 2. So, theres only one database in place, no successfully mounted database, and the issue still persisted even if you created a new database, right? 3. Does the problematic database ever mount successfully before? 4. Is there any event error in the application log on the any exchange servers after you reproduced the issue? 5. Please check the status of all cluster resources (online/offline) Troubleshooting: 1. Please check if the System Mailbox object of problematic database exists properly in the Microsoft Exchange System Objects container via ADSI Editor and the container stays in the right location a. Launch ADSI Editor b. Expand "DC=DomainName,DC=com">CN=Microsoft Exchange System Objects, check the object c. Please move the container and System Mailbox object back to their default location if they are not, and wait for AD replication 2. Please follow the methods in the KB 925825 3. Please try to advice in this thread 4. If the methods above still cant sole the issue, please rise up the diagnostic logging level in order to obtain more logging for analyzing a. Please use cmdlet Set-EventLogLevel to rise the categories below as High on the nodes: MSExchange Store Driver\General MSExchangeIS\9000 Private\General MSExchangeIS\9002 System\Database Storage Engine b. Reproduce the issue c. Go to application log, and check the event logging Notes: please decrease the logging level after the troubleshooting
