Unable to make space in C drive
Hi Team, I have installed windows server 2003 standard Ed. with service pack1. We have upgraded our server one month back with SP2. Now there is no free space in c drive. C drive's total size is 12 gb. total size used by the files and folder is 4 gb. But I am not able to see the free spcae of 8 gb .Please help me in this.

You can delete the service pack and hotfix uninstall files. They are stored in c:\windows and are usually in blue indicating they are compressed. Once you do this, there will be abandoned registry links for all of the items in add/remove programs. Ccleaner (google for adownload)can automate the removal of those. If you'd rather not do that, try cleaning out temp folders, unnecessary user profiles, recycle bin, defrag, etc.

And I assume you emptied the recycle bin as well... It's a pretty straight forward process, determining what is taking up the most space, and resolving the issue or moving the data. Server 2003 should exist just fine under 10GB, so keep looking! Start with documents and settings - its often the most disposable.

Hi, Whats the size of the swap file? This file can be moved from the C drive to another local drive without any issues. Leif
