Unable to load default email folders connection to microsoft exchange has failed outlook 2007
Hello, I have been trying to help a user get her outlook 2007 client to connect to exchange server 2007. Everytime she launches outlook it gives the message "Unable to load default email folders connection to microsoft exchange has failed". I did a bunch of searches but nothing I've found seems to resolve the issue. I have done the following steps so far: Renamed the msmapi.dll and had outlook repair itself Tried starting outlook with the following commans 'outlook.exe /resetnavpane' and 'outlook.exe /cleanprofile' Tried the steps listed here: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/913843 I also tried creating a new outlook profile this didn't work either. A virus scan was run and didn't find anything. I do know that we had the user launch outlook 2007 client succesfully from another machine, so I don't think its her profile, but maybe I'm mistaken? Also I had to relink her mailbox on the exchange server as part of project, but she was getting this error before I even did that. Oh and the user is running the following system: Windows XP(32bit) SP3 with Microsoft Office Professional Plus 2007.

How about other users? Did you get any error when you create the profile? If you can create Outlook profile without any error, but get the error when try to open Outlook, I suggest you use her Outlook to connect another mailbox, then check this issue will occur or not? Alright I figured it out finally. I'm not sure if any of the steps I did helped with the resolution or not but this is what I did: 1. Cleared out all old outlook profiles 2. Went to Add/Remove Programs 3. Found the version of office we use (2007 prof plus) 4. Clicked change 5. Selected Repair 6. Let the process run. I then came in this morning and it had completed. The user launched her outlook and by default she was being asked to choose an email profile (a new outlook profile called 'Outlook' appeared). I had her select it and then had to enter her email address and password over again. It then connected to exchange just fine and loaded a new mailbox for her which is updating now. Hope this helps!
