Unable to install exchange 2010
Hi all,I installed Exchange 2010 sucessfully but then I spoiled the installation by installing Office Communicator in the same machine... I was told it was better to start over so I formatted the drives, installed windows 2008 and I was hoping I could do a clean install of exchange 2010, however.... I am getting this error during the installation (see bold), I would appreciate any help. Hi,Did you remove Exchange by using add/remove programs or just formatted the drives. If this is the case then their will be some things left in the active directory. You should manually cleanup these objects, the article below describes the steps how to do this:http://msexchangehelp.wordpress.com/2010/02/10/manually-uninstall-last-exchange-2010-server-from-organization/Regards,JohanExchange-blog: www.johanveldhuis.nl

I follow this link instructions:http://trycatch.be/blogs/pdtit/archive/2009/11/22/quot-database-is-mandatory-on-usermailbox-property-name-database-quot-error-when-adding-additional-exchange-2010-server.aspxThey recommend to install CAS first then mailbox role then hub transport to avoid that error.I was able to install CAS with no errors but during the installation of the mailbox role I got the error:service msexchange throttling failed to startnow I cant continue with the installation of the hub transport role untill I am able to fix the mailbox role, I tried to uninstall it and it doesnt let me uninstall it either, I get the following error:this mailbox database contains one or more mailboxes or arbirtration mailboxes. Before you can remove this mailbox database you must disable, move or remove user mailboxes and move arbitration mailboxesSo I am completely stuck now....

Hi,Please check article that Oliver mentioned to remove the FederatedEmail e-mail account and then re-run the setup. When you try to install the Exchange Server 2010 Mailbox role, the installation process fails http://support.microsoft.com/kb/978776Besides, please check if you have arbitration mailbox. You can run the following cmdlt:Get-mailbox |fl name, arbitration.Regards,Xiu
