Unable to finish installation of 2007
I have purchased STD licenses and downloaded the iso file from MS website. I am running through the install screen and can not get Step 4: Install MS Exchange server. Am also getting script errors, where it can not find the dafault.htm file in the temp directory, even though the file is there. If I try and reun the Exchangeserver.msi file it starts the process and dies when the status bar goes halfway through. Running 2003 Std R2 64 bit edition of Server. Dual 3.0 Ghz Xeon chips, 4gb or RAM.I am logged into the system as the SA. I have disabled the extrat security in IE and added sites to trusted and what not. I had installed the beta2 with no problems like this but that was on a 32 bit 2003 STD R2 server. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Did you burn the ISO to CD or are you usingvirtual cd-romsoftware to mount the file? If you burnt it to disk then it may be possible thedisk is corrupted or the CD/DVD rom does not like the disk for some reason. If you are using virtual cd-rom software, it is possible there may be some corruption of the ISO, meaning you would most likely have to re-download the image. Should all else fail, ordering the origional media kit is always a good option.

In addition to the points Johan has made two other possibilities occur to me here.1. Are you fully familiar with the software you are using to extract the ISO? I've seen problems like this when users haven't been fully conversant with the extraction software.2. Did you have any errors during Steps 1 to 3 of the install which caused you exit the setup wizard?

I am having the same problems. Tried burning the iso, mounting the iso, etc etc...seems like the downloaded iso is bad. I will try using Linux and mac to burn the iso and see what happens.

I am not sure if MS publish the md5sum of the ISO image on the web site where you download it, my assumption is that they would and in this case it would be worth your while to doanload an md5summer, run that on the downloaded ISO then compare the keys - they should match. If they dont then no matter where or how you burn the disk its just not gonna work. Better you redownload the image...

that's exactly what I did. I used the activex app to download the program this time and it works fine. Just don't download it VIA http and it should be fine. Maybe a 5+ GB file is just not a good download over http :)

It turned out to be bad download. First time it came down was only 1.4gb or something like that. Then I could not get the download page to load for a few days, page not found. Then suddenly the download page came back to life and then the file was 5gb + for the Standard. Not sure what was going on on microsoft's end. But once I got the file, it mounted just fine.
