Unable to create Internet Information Services (IIS) directory entry. Error message is: Access is denied.
I have a small problem with Exchange 2007 on a Windows 2008 server in my test environment. When I go to Power Shell and do i.e. Get-ExchangeCertificate or Get-OwaVirtualDirectory I get the following errors: Get-ExchangeCertificate : Unable to create Internet Information Services (IIS)directory entry. Error message is: Access is denied. . HResult = -2147024891. At line:1 char:23 + Get-ExchangeCertificate <<<< Get-OwaVirtualDirectory : Unable to create Internet Information Services (IIS) directory entry. Error message is: Access is denied. . HResult = -2147024891. At line:1 char:23 + Get-OwaVirtualDirectory <<<< I may have changed some settings in IIS inadvertently, so any info about what may cause this please let me know.

Hi, In the thread you mention, it says "This only happens when viewing the EMC from XP or 2003. When using the EMC on the 2008 boxes or Vista; the errors do not exist." I have this problem when working on my Server 2008 machine where the CAS server is installed along with the Mailbox and Hub Transport servers. Can you confirm that this is an issue that you have also related to this kind of setup.

Hi, If the error occur when you run command on CAS server from the power shell, then it could not be the same as the product issue that I mentioned before. You can use the below steps to troubleshoot it. 1. Please try to test whether you can get return when you run other cmdlt like get-webservicesvirtualdirectory. 2. Please right-click the powershell.exe and choose run-as-admin and then check the issue. Hope it helps. Xiu

It used to work before but i don't know what happened. Can somebody please help me. Don't know where to go from here.
