Unable to connect to Outlook after *over

Hi

I am running Exchange 2013 CU3 (coexistence with 2007) with Outlook 2010 clients

There is a BigIP with 4 E2013 CAS Servers in the pool. I can create a profile to 3 different E2013 mailboxes on 3 different PCs.

When performing a switchover, it takes seconds and the database is mounted successfully

However, the Outlook clients all disconnect and wont reconnect. OWA works fine.

Rebooting the PC allowed Outlook to reconnect on one, even recreating a new profile on another did not. It has been 2 hours and still I cannot get Outlook to reconnect on 2 PCs.

Advanced Outlook logging warns "Network problems are preventing connection to Microsoft Exchange."

Outlook Connection Status shows "Established" (!)

This issue works whether I *over from E2013 Mailbox Server A to B or B to A - I cannot successfully *over!

Output from CAS Pool:

Resolve-DnsName mail.mydomain.co.uk

Name                                           Type   TTL   Section    IPAddress

----                                           ----   ---   -------    ---------

mail.mydomain.co.uk                            A      3600  Answer     nn.nnn.nnn.nnn

I must be missing something, can anyone help?

Thanks

What happens if you hardcode ( with a hosts file if necessary) an Outlook Client machine to a specific CAS rather then the Load Balanced FQDN represented by the F5/CAS Array FQDN?

I have created a hosts file with the IP of a 2013 CAS then the FQDN of the array but the issue remains.

An OWA session explicitly to each of the 4 CAS works too and Test email AutoConfiguration picks up the correct settings

Outlook Connection Status shows 2/3 sessions (type:directory) to the proxy Server are "Established" but one (type:mail) is "Disconnected". 'Reconnect' fails

Does this apply?

Long server connection for Outlook after a database failover in Exchange Server 2013

I hoped that SP1 would fix this issue but it has not. So we spent hours last night performing switch-overs:

When we switchover a database, clients generally reconnect but sometimes fails on some PCs

When we switchover a server, clients reconnect 60% of the time

OWA reconnects no problem. Using Reconnect in Connection Status fails, restarting Outlook works but only if there are no lingering connections to CAS or Load Balancer: netstat -ano | findstr 443

Get-ClientAccessServer | Get-OutlookAnywhere | select identity,*hostname

Identity ExternalHostname InternalHostname

This is delaying our migration project now so any help is greatly appreciated
