Unable to access Excel file

I am getting an error, "We found a problem with some content in "excelfilename.xlsx".  Do you want to try to recover as much as we can? If you trust the source of this workbook click yes."

If you click yes, it gyrates a lot and then posts: The workbook cannot be opened or repaired by Microsoft Excel because it is corrupt.

1.  I have three other people including myself that can open this file just fine, we are all Windows 7 64bit and 16gb ram or 8gb ram. (regardless if file sin from network or local)

2.  I can log in as this user and open the file on any machine

3. It will not open for him, only him, on his brand new laptop.

4.  Trust Center Protected View doesn't change anything.

Any ideas?
