Unable to Move Mailbox Using EAC

We have a Single Forest.. multiple domain child domain scenario. In one of our child
domain we are upgrading from exchange 2010 to exchange 2013. After exchange
2013 server deployment we been trying to move mailbox (from 2010 to 2013) but
it fails with Error " MigrationTransientException: Failed to communicate with the mailbox database. --> Failed to communicate with the mailbox database. -->MapiExceptionNetworkError: Unable to make connection to the server.
?(hr=0x80004005, ec=2423)"
But if we try the same using Management Shell (i.e.New-MoveRequest -Identity abc@xyz.com -TargetDatabase "TEMPDB"-BadItemLimit 100) its completing successfully.

Need help.

Hi ,

Based on the error message it seems like there is communication problem between the exchange servers .Please check the name resolution part and reachability.

Thanks for your reply.

We have tried this but not helping.. we can ping the mailbox server where system mailbox resides (on a diffrent site) by netbios and by FQDN.

I hope you are moving the Mailbox from Target Server.
If the you are able to move the Mailbox using Management Shell that means server is working fine.

Are you able to move the mailbox from one database to another on the same server (2013)?

Alright, So you can move the mailbox using Management Shell in both the scenario but you can't move it using EAC.

Check the Allow Inheritance on the Mailbox and make sure that check box is checked. If not than check the box.
Try to move the mailbox and post the result.

When was the last time you restarted the server (2013)?

Hi Neilesh,

Please check whether this issue caused by AVs or Firewall.

According to your discription, I know that you can move mailbox from 2010 to 2013 via EMS, however cannot move mailbox via EAC. Please try to re-build ECP Virtual Directory in IIS for testing.
