Unable to Access ECP after SP1 Upgrade
Hi, Last late we upgraded our entire Exchange 2010 infrastructure to SP1 + Rollup3 but since then I am unable access the ECP web application for either the organization or the individual users. Both Internet Explorer and Chrome just attempt the load the page constantly but nothing is ever returned on the page - no errors at all. The same configuration works in our other site but not our main office. I've re-created the OWA and ECP virtual directories but with the same result. Any ideas?

Yes. I forgot to mention that OWA works fine, but if you click into "see all options" the page just sits there loading.

I've been looking through the IIS logs and it appears that IIS may be throwing a 401 error: 2011-05-19 21:42:30 W3SVC1 EXEVS18 10.110.250.118 GET /ecp/user@domain.com/ rfr=owa 443 - 10.110.250.101 HTTP/1.1 Mozilla/4.0+(compatible;+MSIE+8.0;+Windows+NT+6.1;+WOW64;+Trident/4.0;+SLCC2;+.NET+CLR+2.0.50727;+.NET+CLR+3.5.30729;+.NET+CLR+3.0.30729;+MS-RTC+EA+2) mail.domain.local 401 1 2148074254 1973 735 15

Further to the above. I've been trying to complete Test-ecpconnectivity and the command never completes (much like how the web page reacts).

Reboot the server and try again, it should work.Gulab | MCTS-MCITP Messaging: 2010 | MCTS-MCITP Messaging: 2007 | MCC 2011 | Skype: Gulab.Mallah | Blog: www.iExchangeRanger.com

Hi Rich129089, Please make sure the settings of OWA and ECP VD are identical(Server Configuration->Client Access). In Exchange 2010 SP1, you can reset the VD easily(Server Configuration->Client Access->Actions->Reset Virtual Directory...). Can you log on to ECP directly? e.g. https://mail.contoso.com/ecp Please also run the Exbpa to do a Health check. I've re-created both the ECP & OWA directories as well as ensuring they are indentical in terms of security but it hasn't made any difference. I've also left their defaults in place to test (forms based auth) and the problem is identical. I'm unable to log into the ECP directly - the same problem occurs. Exbpa doesn't return any errors of interest, just a couple relating to our specific configuration such as high inbound/outbound mail limits etc... I haven't been able to reboot the server yet, it didn't ask for one during the upgrade but I wanted to (maintenance window was short so I didn't have time). It's a very odd problem!

Well a reboot didn't fix the issue, I'm stumped. Any further ideas?

Do you have F5 Load Balancer and what is the authentication you have set for ECP?Gulab | MCITP: Exchange 2010-2007 | Skype: Gulab.Mallah | Blog: www.ExchangeRanger.blogspot.com

No load balancer. ECP is set to basic and Integrated Auth (same as OWA). I just don't understand why the page continues to load and never times out, I'm not sure what logs I can use to start troubleshooting. The setup in our DR site is indentical but doesn't have this problem.

Did you tried to recreate the Virtual Directory for ECP?Gulab | MCITP: Exchange 2010-2007 | Skype: Gulab.Mallah | Blog: www.ExchangeRanger.blogspot.com

Yes, I've mentioned this earlier in the thread. I've re-created it a few times.

I've recently installed a second CAS server for some activesync testing only to find the problem doesn't occur when accessing ECP from this server. Any thoughts?
