URL Exchange 2010 Multi Sites
Hi All I m going to plan an Exchange 2010 Infrastructure on 2 AD sites. 1st site's name : Site01 2nd site's name : Site02 Each site have a Domain Controller 2008R2. The Forest have a single domain (domain and forest level 2008R2). Site01 : 2 CAS/HUB with NLB 1 MBX (DAG with the other MBX on the other site) Site02 : 2 CAS/HUB with NLB 1 MBX (DAG with the other MBX on the other site) Both sites are internet facing. I would like to know how can i configure my URL to get High Availability if one site fail. URL About Autodiscover Internal & External on both sites URL About WebServices Internal & External on both sites URL About OWA / ECP Internal & External on both sites URL About Exchange ActiveSync Internal & External on both sites URL About Outlook Anywhere Internal & External on both sites URL About OAB Internal & External on both sites I already seen this link http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb310763.aspx but I would like an another advise, because i didn't find how to configure OAB or ANywhere to be redundant too. Could you please help me with examples (domain.local for internal domain and domain.com for Internet domain) ? Thanks you !

Hi Chaoli, Per your description, it seems correctly. But, if you want to achieve the CAS redundant, the dns round robin is not a recommended. I would use HLB for the CAS web service in the two sites for the redundance, and then use other ways to achieve the network redundant. Some related issue: http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/exchangesvradmin/thread/094c3fb8-a35c-48e1-b2f8-9ed3cc70b5a2 http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en/exchange2010/thread/5f50e2b5-3d40-4454-bcc6-e2c53389074d Regards! Hi Gavin, Yes that's true the Round Robin DNS are not the very good way to make CAS redundant from Internet, but there is better than only one autodiscover record, right ? For example, if the autodiscover record which i retrieve from Internet give me SCP Url from the site which is down...then my connection with Anywhere won't work, right ? HLB is a good way but...expensive. I want to add you that on both sites NLB CAS/HUB will be desserved through a TMG/EDGE. Internet => TMG/EDGE => NLB (HUB/CAS) => DAG01 (MBX01) | Internet => TMG/EDGE => NLB (HUB/CAS) => DAG01 (MBX02)

Hi Chaoli, If you want to plan the email system as the above topology, and you also do not want to use HLB, it seems that using the DNS round robin is the only way. Like my above information(especial of the link), it all depend on your descision. ;) Good luck! Regards!
