Two SCC Mailbox Cluster in one AD site, is it possible?
Hi, would like to check if there's any similar deployment with 1. One existing SCC Mailbox Cluster at Site1 2. Two Hub and Two Cas 3. One new SCC Mailbox cluster at Site1 We encounter continuous outlook client disconnection and reconnection while we deploying the 2nd SCC Mailbox Cluster (Exchange 2007 SP1). -prereq. all pass -Server cluster successful -Up to mailbox role cluster setup only (Active node) Anyone able to share some info here? thanks.

HiYes, this is supported configuration, All cluster nodes must be member servers in the same Active Directory domain and site.http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb125149(EXCHG.80).aspxhttp://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb125217(EXCHG.80).aspx

Hi Sergey, thanks for the reply, I'm referring to two SCC instead of two node SCC . would like to know how to configure A/P(Existing) + A/P(New) Existing already a two node SCC in place, we intended to create another two node SCC in the same site. -We already setup but it causes end-user outlook having frequent disconnection, maybe something to do with CAS / HUB not able to differentiate which mailbox cluster group to refer.

okThis my mistake, i am don`t careful read your post. After installing two SCC node we have errors in event log ? Please Run ExpBPA on second cluster. When you move user mailbox to second node and after this user run your Outlook client, what are you see ? In this moment what are you see in event log cluster node ?

no worries, In fact no mailbox movement yet, just prep. the mailbox cluster, then entire organization outlook client was effected. Due to the effect, the cluster was then removed, all client back to normal.

This is a very strange issue and it is supported. We have deployed multiple clusters into a single AD site before without any effect to the users. The HUB / CAS servers should cause the client to disconnect (unless you are using outlook anywhere), so my gut feeling is it might be an IP/DNS conflict.Casper Pieterse, Principle Consultant - UC, Dimension Data South Africa, Microsoft Certified Master: Exchange 2007
