Two Autodiscovers same SMTP name - Exchange Resource Forest

Hi people!

Im working in an Exchange Resource Forest Migration. Ive deployed Exchange Resource Forest (2013) in a new Domain and Ive created a trust between Account Forest.

In this account forest, exist an Exchange Server 2007 SP3. Ive configured prerequisites to migrate mailboxes from Exchange 2007 to Exchange 2013 (Resource Forest) (Connectors, accepted domain...)

The SMTP name is the same in both Exhange.

Ive started to migrate the first mailboxes succesfully. But, when the mailbox is migrate I only can access it by OWA. When I open Outlook, It doesnt change the configuration of Exchange server.

Ive tried to change manually the configuration, but I understand It ask autodiscover (Exchange 2007) and It doesnt find the mailbox in Exchange 2007 because It is migrated to Exchange 2013. (Computer Account and user account is in Account Forest and Mailbox is in Exchange Resource Forest, using a Linked Mailbox).

In Exchange Resource Forest 2013 exist two accepted domain:

- ERFdomain.local

- company.com

Domain Company.com exist too in Exchange 2007 and it is the Default Domain in both Exchange.

If I configure email address using ERFdomain.local in Manually configuration in Outlook, it works!

I thinks is an problem between Autodiscovers...

How I can configure two autodiscovers in Users Accounts Forest? During the migration (3000 mailboxes) I will need both autodiscovers. Is it possible??

Any suggestion?

Best Regards!

Hi,

For your question, please try to configure the Autodiscover service for Multiple Forests:
https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa996849.aspx

Meanwhile, here's an similar thread about Autodiscover Coexistence Cross Forest Migration in a Resource Forest Topology: https://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/6e78e84d-6123-4880-8065-a56cfb0aeff3/autodiscover-coexistence-cross-forest-migration-in-a-resource-forest-topology-keeping-primary-smtp?forum=exchangesvrdeploylegacy

Hi Allen,

First of all, thank your for your reply.

I read about Autodiscover for Multiple Forest, but in my project, Ive an autodiscover (SCP) created in User account Forest for Exchange 2007 SP3 (Source Exchange).

Im afraid of to have problems creating another Autodiscover (SCP) for Exchange 2013 in User Account and to have an issue with Autodiscover in Exchange 2007.

If I create a new SCP Autodiscover in User Account Forest, Will work both autodiscovers??

Best Regards.

Hi,

I understand I have to run Export-Autodiscoverconfing in one CAS of Exchange 2013 and specify credentials al Domain Controller of Users Account Forest, right?

I hope when I run Export-Autodisvover... It add the autodiscover configuration of Exchange 2013 and It doesnt delete de Autodiscover Configuration of Exchange 2007... is it true?

Thank you.

I havent made it yet... Im not sure if the export command add or replace...

Anyone knows if Export-Autodiscover adds new Autodiscover of Exchange 2013 in Users Account Forest where is Install Exchange Server 2007?

I dont want to have incidents with Exchange 2007... it is in production right now.

Best Regards
