Turkish characters are not displaying properly on emails sent from OWA 2007
Sophia, Thank you for the reply. I still do not understand why this only occurs when the email format is HTML from OWA. If they send the message as Plain Text, the recipient sees all of the characters correctly. Does spell-check only work on HTML formatted email?

All of our customer service teams use Group Mailboxes via OWA to communicate with clients. We recently started doing business in Turkey and noticed that some of our turkish clients do not see turkish characters correctly in emails sent from OWA. If an email is sent from OWA with this text: çÇ The client replied to the email and reported seeing the text as this: 纹¹¹«»ªÇ Our Exchange Servers are 2007 SP3 running on Windows Server 2008 SP1. Out Outlook Clients are 2007 SP1 This does not appear to happen if the email is sent from OWA using PLAIN TEXT instead of HTML formatting.

Hi, In Exchange 2007, OWA will let users check the spelling of message before they are sent. And users can also select which language to use when they check spelling. But there is no Turkish in OWA dictionary, which you can see it from OWA2007 through ‘Options/Spelling/Dictionary Language’. So, the Turkish clients will not see Turkish characters in emails from OWA. Hope it helps. ThanksSophia Xu TechNet Community Support
