Hi
Probably the last line is pointing to the reason: ERROR] Attempted to read or write protected memory.
This is often an indication that other memory is corrupt.
Try with memory test software for you server

Please check if there any other application on the problematic server
Please make sure that the number of the version 2 performance counter providers is less than 64
HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Perflib\_V2Providers
Which service pack has been applied on the windows server 2008? If it’s before SP2, please apply
KB 953290

James,
What do you mean, "check if there any other application on the problematic server"? What are you wanting me to look for, are there other programs that run on this server, yes. What do you mean "make sure the number of the version 2 performance
counter providers is less than 64"? If you are talking about how many subfolers there are under that setting, then yes there are less than 64. I tried downloading and installing the KB 953290 that you mentioned and it said it didn't pertain to
this system.
What next?
Thanks,
David Kellett

David,
What is the Exchange 2010 edition(enterprise/standard) you are trying to install? Do you have SP2 Installed for Windows Server 2008 Standard 64 Bit? If not then install
the SP2 and then try installing Exchange again.
Thanks,
Sanjeev

I saw the ExSetupUI.exe crashing a lot, just use the setup.exe / setup.com :)

Setup.exe does not accept command line inputs,
Use setup.com /help to see all the options, here's some more reference : http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa997281.aspx

Looks very interesting :)
Download the new set of Exchange 2010 SP1 file and try to install it.
Seems like files it self is corrupt.

I know this might be a long shot but your not installing Exchange 2010 full version on a DC?
If you are try installing it on a stand alone server.

I do not have a stand alone server I can install it on. I need it to go on a DC.

Sanjeev;
I did open a ticket on this and after four days of troubleshooting and going over everything with a tech we finally got the MS Exchange 2010 installed.

So I had similar issue - I just removed the registry entries and the local folder - and I was able to install Exchange.
