Trying to find exosal.dll version 6.5.7226.0 (SP1)
HelloI am having an absolute nightmare trying to find 1 single Dll required to make eseutil work with a third party application. My exchange cluster is E2K3 SP1 (active - passive). With the service pack update I expected all the relevant and associated eseutil.exe and related files to be updated to SP1 version. But no...Not a problem I thought I will grab them directly from the Exchange 2K3 SP1 update source and drop them in where I need them.I can find all the correct files I need EXCEPT exosal.dll version 6.5.7226.0 (SP1).I just cannot find it!!I have looked on the server in temp directories, in E2k3 SP1 and SP2 (extracting any *.dl_ files if required) and I can only find the OLD version. I have looked on missing Dll web sites but they seem to only have the original exosal.dll file. I need SP1 version. It is driving me nuts!If any one can point me in the right direction of finding in the Service Packs, KB article or web sites (or even emailing to me!!) an exosal.dll of version 6.5.7226.0 (SP1) I would be most grateful.Thank you all very much.RegardsYin

Did you check with the third party application vendor? IMHO, that is a pretty crappy design that they requireONLY a specific version of a DLL. Ideally, it should be all DLLs with a minimum specific version. Shame on your vendor! Can you build a standalone E2K3 SP1 system in a VM and just copy the DLL out of there? I just checked around on my servers, but all I have is the SP2 version; otherwise I would put it somewhere for you to download.

The vendor supports multiple versions. its more to do with the way we build systems, We try to keep versions consistant where possible for best support from 3rd party vendors, it's just the way we work.We ended up upgrading to Exchange SP2 anyway but again for some unknow reason exosal.dll was not update??Very odd.If the offer is still available for you to post a exosall.dll from Exchange 2003 SP2 install is available then that would be much appreciated. Otherwise I think there is a recent hotfix that updates things like exosall.dll and the rest of the eseutil.exe files and dll's.Thanks very much for your response. I just don't understand why this single .dll won't update and does not appear to be on the SP1 or SP2 packages for exchange.RegardsYin

Glad to hear it is working. Contact me via e-mail if you need the DLL (which you probably don't).
