Trouble implementing retention policy
In Exch2010SP1, using the EMC GUI, I have created a Default Retention Policy Tag Then created a Retention Policy to use the tag and added it to my mailbox my items are showing expired but didn't delete. I also tried "Start-ManagedFolderAssistant - Identity "myUser" and these expired items don't delete. What am I doing wrong?

Items that are not emails but but have been deleted and moved to a users "Deleted Items" folder are not purged after my retention policy days. How can you get a retention policy to apply to objects other than emails?

Hi edjin, Do you mean that the calendar item and others could not be deleted throught RP, but the email items could be deleted through the RP, right? Please refer to below and confirm how the retention age is calculated. http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb430780.aspx Regards! Gavin TechNet Community Support

What I mean is: 1) Implemented retention policy on "Deleted Items" for 1 day. 2) Confirm "email" items delete from "Deleted Items" by day 3. 3) Deleted some calendar and contact items, waited 2 weeks. Contact and calendar items remain in "Deleted Items". How do you get the retention policy to apply to more than just "mail" items?

Hi edjin, After do more research, RPT do not support calendar, task item, just MRM support it. So, it is by design. Regards!Gavin TechNet Community Support
