Trouble Sending email from a non-domain account
Hi All, Exchange 2007 SP2 running on Server 2008 SP2. A programmer at work has a program setup to email him some results. When he uses the from address of something he makes up, the email just disappears. When he uses a real internal email address (belonging to a user account) everything is fine. I have setup on the exchange server to allow relaying from that server, I have turned off the anti-spam software and still no luck. What else I am missing?

Hi,Did you configure it based on the below article?Allowing application servers to relay off Exchange Server 2007http://msexchangeteam.com/archive/2006/12/28/432013.aspxIf you already performed it, please check whether any error message come up in the event log or queue? Did you check the Message Tracking log? If possible, please enable Protocol Logging and reproduce this issue to collect the log, then send it to mehttp://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb124531(EXCHG.80).aspxThanksAllen

Hi Allen,Very strange. So in the tracking log there is a record of both emails. From then they both seem to dissappear. It almost seems that the exchange server is dropping it before it even gets anywhere.I have sent you the logs. Tim
