Transaction failures occurred during MAPI connectivity testing Error in SCOM 07 R2 w/ Exchange 2010
Hello,
We are running System Center Operations Manager 07 R2 and I have recently installed the Exchange 2010 Management Pack. I am receiving a critical alert in SCOM stating the following:
------------------------------
"Some of the MAPI connectivity transactions failed. Detailed information:

Error: [Microsoft.Exchange.Data.Storage.ConnectionFailedTransientException]: Cannot open mailbox /o=xxxxxxxx/ou=Exchange Administrative Group (FYDIBOHF23SPDLT)/cn=Configuration/cn=Servers/cn=xxxxxxx/cn=Microsoft System Attendant. Inner error [Microsoft.Mapi.MapiExceptionLogonFailed]:

I cannot seem to find any event errors for this problem, but SCOM continues to report this as a critical error. We do have public folders (quite a few at that). When I run the Test-MAPIConnectivity command by itself, I get:
MailboxServer Database Result Error
------------- -------- ------ -----
SERVER Public Folder D... *FAILURE* [Microsoft.Exchange.Data.Storage.ConnectionFailedTransientException].
--------------------
I followed the discussion I found at:
http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/exchangesvrgeneral/thread/445632cd-560a-4205-b9e8-302ec26d6493
which is very similar to my situation except for the fact that I actually DO have public folders. My databases are all pointing to the new public folder database as stated.
Anyone else having this issue, and if so how did you get SCOM to stop egging you on it (without overriding it)?
Thanks.

Did you create that special account with the Test-NewCasConnectivityUser.ps1 script?Ed Crowley MVP "There are seldom good technological solutions to behavioral problems."

Ed,
Yes I created the test account yesterday. Before I created it, I was receiving the alerts that the TEST cmdlets were not able to run. Afterwards, the alerts closed themselves which told me that it was somewhat working.
I ran through my head yesterday that maybe there are further permissions issues with the test account? John K. Boslooper Windows Server Administrator UT Dallas
